JurisPrep LSAT Coaching – Frequently Asked Questions

Preparing for the LSAT is one of the most transformative investments you can make in your law school journey. At JurisPrep, we’ve coached students starting at every diagnostic score and aiming for every outcome — from those targeting T-14 admission to students focused on earning full scholarships at strong regional schools.

This FAQ is here to give you a clear, honest overview of how our LSAT Coaching works, what you can expect from your coach, and how we help you build the skills and confidence needed to reach your goal score. Whether you’re just beginning or pushing for the final few points, our goal is to make the LSAT feel manageable, structured, and achievable.

Payment & Packages

1. What coaching packages are available?
We offer several LSAT coaching packages, including the LSAT Foundation Package (6 hours), the Ironclad Package (12 hours), the Sterling Package (18 hours), and the Platinum Package (24 hours). We can also create custom packages at a sliding hourly rate for students who wish to purchase more hours than the Platinum Package or who want something in between.

2. Do you offer discounts for bundled services?
Yes. Students who purchase LSAT coaching together with an Admissions Consulting package receive a 5% discount compared to purchasing each separately.

3. How much does LSAT coaching cost?
Rates vary depending on quantity of hours you purchase at a given time. The more hours you purchase, the lower the hourly rate. The less hours, the higher the hourly rate. For beginners, we recommend purchasing either our Platinum Package (24 hours) or our Sterling Package (18 hours) to take advantage of the savings that those plans offer. Our clients purchase between 18 and 24 hours on average over the course of their time working with us for LSAT prep.

4. What payment options are available?
We accept Zelle and credit card payments (a small processing fee applies to credit cards). Students can pay up front for the full cost of the package, or in monthly installments by request. Please email us at contact@jurisprep.org if you are interested in hearing about the payment plans available for a given coaching package.

5. Can I pay per session instead of upfront?
No. We bill for packages upfront, unless you set up a payment plan. We cannot accommodate paying per session. For students who wish to pay by the session, we offer an à la carte rate of $200/hr.

6. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We’re happy to create flexible payment plans depending on the package you choose. This helps you spread out costs in a way that suits your budget.

7. What are the payment plan options?
We offer flexible monthly payment plans for all LSAT coaching packages. The number of installments available depends on the size of the package:

  • Smaller packages (such as 6-hour options) can typically be split into 2 monthly payments.

  • Mid-sized packages (around 12–18 hours) offer 2, 3, or 4 monthly installments, with some extending to 5 or 6 payments depending on the package.

  • Larger packages (24 hours and above) provide the widest range of payment options, including 2–8 monthly installments, allowing you to choose the monthly cost that works best for your budget.

All payment plans simply divide the total package cost by the number of installments — we don’t charge any payment plan fees, and credit-card processing fees are fully waived if you pay via Zelle.

8. Can I start with a smaller package and upgrade later?
You’re always welcome to purchase additional hours, but discounted pricing only applies when you choose a larger package from the start. If you begin with a smaller package and later decide you want more hours, the additional time is billed at the cost of that number of hours as if you had purchased that block on its own. Adding 6 hours is charged at the 6 hour rate, adding 12 hours is charged at the 12 hour rate, and so on. Because discounts are built into the larger packages themselves, upgrading later will always cost more than selecting the full package upfront.

9. Why does upgrading cost more than choosing the larger package initially?
Discounted pricing is tied to purchasing the full package at once. When you buy additional hours later, they’re added at the regular package rate for that number of hours, so the total cost is higher than if you had selected the larger discounted package from the beginning.

10. What if I’m unsure how many hours I need?
That’s completely normal. We can help you estimate the right package based on your diagnostic results, goals, and test date. Choosing a larger package upfront usually gives you the best overall value. And if you finish your LSAT prep with unused hours, you won’t lose them — you can use these hours for admissions consulting sessions or apply their value toward the cost of an admissions consulting package.

Getting Started

11. Can I try coaching before committing to a package?
Yes. Many students start with a diagnostic session to experience our teaching style before purchasing a full package.

12. Do you offer trial sessions?
Yes. We offer diagnostic sessions for just $85 ($55/hr). Completing a diagnostic session helps us assess your current level and recommend a study a plan tailored to your goals.

13. Can I request to work directly with Micah?
Yes. Some students prefer to work directly with our founder, Micah. Because of limited availability, these sessions are billed at a higher rate. If you’d like to request to work with Micah, let us know during your consultation.

14. How are coaches assigned to students?
We match you with a coach in large part based on your timeline and availability. You’re welcome to request a specific coach if you have a preference, and we will try to accommodate your request subject to their availability.

Scheduling & Flexibility

15. How do I schedule or reschedule a session?
Scheduling is the purview of your LSAT coach. They will reach out to you to get started, and the two of you will agree on the days and times you meet each week. Scheduling is flexible, and should match up with both of your schedules.

16. What if I need to miss a week?
That’s completely fine. You can skip a week and pick up again later or book extra sessions to catch up. Just make sure to provide 24 hours notice to avoid any cancellation fees.

17. How often should I meet with a coach?
It depends on your timeline. Students preparing months in advance may meet once a week, while those approaching a test date may meet twice a week or more. We help you determine a plan that fits your goals.

During Coaching

18. What is the JurisPrep teaching style?
We focus on explanation and true understanding. Students often tell us our breakdowns make difficult LSAT concepts finally click. Sessions are customized to your weak areas to ensure you make meaningful and consistent progress.

19. Will sessions focus on my specific weaknesses?
Yes. Your coach will tailor each session to the areas where you can gain the most points, based on your practice test results and prior sessions.

20. Do you provide practice tests or questions?
No. Our clients generally purchase a subscription to LSAT Demon to gain access to officially licensed LSAT questions and practice exams. We offer a discount code to our clients to get 10% off their first month's subscription. For clients who do not wish to use LSAT Demon, they can make do with a LawHub account, but that is not ideal and often results in slower progress.

21. How do I stay in touch with my coach between lessons?
That's up to you and your coach, but in most cases, you should feel free to email or text your coach wit
h questions between sessions, or to handle scheduling changes and general housekeeping issues.

Fintan, Northwestern Law

Working with JurisPrep was the best decision I made as a law school applicant. My coach helped me write unique essays that both showed my personality and made clear, moving arguments about why I wanted to go to law school that I believe made a significant difference in my admissions results. I was guided through all aspects of the application cycle, from deciding where to apply, to preparing for interviews, to the end of my cycle, where I received valuable help negotiating for scholarship money. With JurisPrep's help, I was able to gain admittances to five T14 law schools, with offers varying from just under half tuition to almost whole tuition at one institution.  This is not to mention the multiple T40 full-ride offers I received, and waitlist offers at additional T14s. Finally, the free LSAT sessions that came with my purchase of the highest package were extremely helpful in increasing my understanding of the exam after passing 170. To anyone considering working with this company, I give my whole-hearted endorsement.
